Metro Vancouver Bylaw 1161 – Non-Road Diesel Engine Emission Regulation Bylaw

The goals of the Metro Vancouver Liquid Waste Management Plan are: (1) to protect public health and the environment through the provision of wastewater collection and treatment services; (2) to use liquid waste as a resource through the formation of biogas generated in the treatment process; and (3) to enable effective, affordable and collaborative management through monitoring, maintaining and investing in liquid waste infrastructure. These goals will be achieved in a cost-effective and sustainable way.

Metro Vancouver Bylaw 1098 – Agricultural Boilers Emission Regulation Bylaw

This bylaw places emission limits on boilers by biomass (i.e. wood products), natural gas, or propane and are engaged solely in agricultural operations located wholly in the agricultural land reserve.

Metro Vancouver Bylaw 1086 – Automotive Refinishing Emission Regulation Bylaw

This bylaw requires that all operators of automotive refinishing facilities operate in accordance with good air pollution control practices. Spray coating must use only products containing VOC content less than or equal to standards in the bylaw Appendix and occur in a booth equipped with a ventilation system that meets bylaw requirements.

Vancouver Bylaw 8417 – Solid Waste Bylaw

This bylaw concerns the collection and handling of solid waste in the City of Vancouver. It lists materials prohibited from garbage containers which includes hazardous waste (except asbestos waste delivered to the Vancouver landfill in accordance with the Asbestos Policy), as well as drywall containing asbestos, radioactive waste, and biomedical wastes - like sharps.
