Hamilton Bylaw No. 07-160 – To Prohibit Unnecessary Idling of Vehicles

This bylaw does not allow for a vehicle to idle for more than three consecutive minutes in a sixty-minute period in order to reduce the amount of emissions, including particulate matter, that can have negative health consequences.

Hamilton Bylaw 07-282 – Pesticide Use Bylaw

This bylaw restricts the application of pesticides within the City of Hamilton, except for those listed within Schedule A of the Bylaw. Schedule A(3) contains a list of allowable pesticide active ingredients, and does not list glyphosate, diazinon, and malathion. Exceptions to the prohibition are listed and include (but are not limited to) the destruction of poison ivy, infestations, and application of golf courses and other turf.

Hamilton Bylaw 01-219 – To Manage and Regulate Municipal Parks

This bylaw outlines the permitted uses and activities with Hamilton's parks. It prohibits the consumption or sale of alcohol within parks without a license and also forbids the dumping of toxic waste. Part III describes the various sport and recreational activities allowed in parks - including the operation of bicycles.
