Cancer Guidelines Database

The Partnership maintains a database of cancer guidelines via its current portal, CancerView Canada. The database contains both Canadian and international English language cancer guidelines spanning the continuum from screening to survivorship and end-of-life care. The database has proven to be a resource valued by the cancer community as shown by the evaluation of and focus groups with our former Guideline Facilitator Network. The database content has not been updated on the website since 2012 while work to develop an organizational digital strategy (ODS), and refresh of the Partnership’s digital ecosystem was planned and initiated in 2015. To support the capture of new information, a vendor has been engaged
over the past 3 years (April 2014 – March 2017) to continue to review and prepare content for uploading to the database.

The Partnership is now ready to refresh content. Our ODS is comprised of a multifaceted digital transformation, which includes consolidation and redesign of several of its owned digital properties, addition of new technologies and development of supporting governance and internal processes.

The successful Proponent will be responsible for:

  • The continued updating (with newly available guidelines) and maintaining of the guideline records contained in the cancer guidelines database (guidelines published from January 2017 through to three months prior to contract end.
    • Updating refers to executing a literature search (including grey literature) to identify potential guidelines, critically appraising the guidelines to determine quality and application of inclusion/exclusion criteria, indexing results (including meta data) and preparing deliverable in a format for ease of uploading to the Partnership’s database
    • Maintenance refers to ensuring records are up to date and executing records management processes
