Regina Smoking Bylaw 2017-20

This bylaw prohibits smoking, including the use of electronic cigarettes and waterpipes, on outdoor seating areas (patios, decks, terraces and rooftops), in outdoor public places (City-owned or controlled land including playgrounds, spray pads, swimming pools, skating rinks, skate parks, dog parks, exercise facilities, track facilities, outdoor stadiums and sports facilities, hard surface courts, athletic fields, parks and open spaces, multi-use pathways, golf courses within City limits and plazas), enclosed public places (outdoor bus shelters, public buildings rented out for private events, public transportation vehicles and other vehicles for hire, private clubs and common areas of multi-unit dwellings), and within 10 metres of  the entrance, window and air exchanges of public buildings.

Roads, sidewalks, parking lots and open air parkades are exempt.  Exemptions are also noted for teaching and testing devices in vape retail stores.

This policy does not restrict traditional use of tobacco products by Indigenous populations.
