The Screening for Distress Workshop: 5th and 6th Vital Signs

The Screening for Distress Workshop:  5th and 6th Vital Signs, held March 6 and 7, 2008 in Calgary, Alberta was organized to review existing practices in screening for distress across Canada and to develop consensus about moving forward with the concept of nation-wide screening for distress.

Representatives from all provinces, thought leaders, decision makers, psychosocial practice leaders, representatives from the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer, the Canadian Association of Provincial Cancer Agencies, the Public Health Agency of Canada, Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Canadian Council of Health Services Accreditation, the Canadian Association of Psychosocial Oncology, Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology were invited to contribute their knowledge and experience in meeting the workshop objectives.
