Driving change across Canada’s cancer care system
United by unique: Improving cancer outcomes for all people in Canada
February 4, 2026
On World Cancer Day (Feb. 4), people around the world unite to put individuals and their stories at the heart of cancer care. The Canadian Partnership Against Cancer (the Partnership) recognizes that with every cancer diagnosis comes a unique care journey shaped by who you are, where you live and what you need. As the steward of the Canadian Strategy for Cancer Control, the Partnership works with provincial and territorial partners to ensure cancer care reflects these unique journeys and advances initiatives that meet the diverse needs of people in Canada.
World Cancer Day will be marked across Canada with landmarks lit in orange and blue on February 4:

About World Cancer Day 2026
World Cancer Day takes place every year on Feb. 4 and is a key international awareness day that unites the world in the fight against cancer.
Created in 2000 and coordinated by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), World Cancer Day 2026 is taking place under the theme United by unique, placing people at the centre of care and their stories at the heart of the conversation. This is the second year of a three-year campaign exploring different dimensions of people-centred cancer care and new ways of making a difference.
