It is well established that many factors, including a growing and aging population, are making demands on health human resources that the system struggles to keep up with. The cancer workforce is no exception.
The Partnership is working to increase understanding of the challenges posed by these shortages and helping to develop and share innovative solutions.

Our Advisory Groups

Cancer control knowledge and expertise are widely dispersed throughout Canada’s health-care system. To draw on this experience and knowledge and make it readily accessible to all stakeholders, the Partnership is advised by collaborative networks of volunteer experts, including patients and survivors and family members. These are our Advisory Groups.

The vision of the Health Human Resources Advisory Group is to enable quality care to patients by building and sustaining health human resources capacity in cancer control. It is imperative that health care providers and administrators are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to carry out their work effectively and efficiently. The vision will be achieved by:

  • gathering and integrating knowledge and work and ensuring a coordinated approach to action
  • researching, assessing, and documenting research on innovative service delivery models
  • sharing knowledge and data on human resource issues and trends with system planners, educators, health managers, clinicians, human resource planners, and other Advisory Groups
  • conducting ongoing analysis and assessment of human resources information and data needs.

Partnership Advisory Groups (formerly called Action Groups) are undergoing a membership renewal process which is to be completed by April 1, 2010. For more information about Advisory Groups please contact info@partnershipagainstcancer.ca.
